Over the Easter period, more than 200 people attended our family‑friendly Xplorers activities across North Northamptonshire. Delivered across four locations – Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering and Rushden – Xplorers are navigational challenges where families work together to find markers plotted around local parks, encouraging physical activity, teamwork and outdoor exploration.
The Active Families team also worked in partnership with the Family Hub team, delivering engaging family fun sessions at both Kettering and Wellingborough Family Hubs. Alongside this, the team organised a mini golf event at Kingswood in Corby, which welcomed 45 participants and provided an inclusive and enjoyable activity for local families.
In addition to these sessions, the wider Active Communities Funday was held at Queensway Park in Wellingborough, attracting around 300 attendees. The event offered a wide range of free activities and saw the involvement of numerous partner organisations, creating a vibrant community celebration that promoted physical activity, wellbeing and community connection.
