Meet the team
Meet our new colleagues in the Active Communities team! We asked them to introduce themselves, and answer some questions.
Diana Duffield - Place Lead, Active Communities
My role focuses on helping more people get active through community programmes, partnerships, grants, training and engagement with local residents.
Before joining the Council, I worked in wellbeing and mental health support with young people in Corby, and previously as the Football Development Officer for Women and Girls at Northamptonshire FA. One of my favourite jobs was working as an underwater photo and video instructor in the Cayman Islands!
I'm passionate about the positive impact sport and physical activity can have on people's lives and communities, and I'm excited to help create more opportunities for people across North Northamptonshire to get moving.

How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council?
I started on 14 September, so I'm very new to the team!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping create opportunities that improve people's health, wellbeing and sense of connection through sport and physical activity.
How do you unwind after work?
Football keeps me busy! I play for Corby Steelers Reserves and coach the Corby Steelers U9 Ravens. I'm also currently working towards my UEFA C coaching qualification.
Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?
Ben & Jerry's Half Baked. Although an affogato is hard to beat!
Libby Fultz - Active Aging Lead
I recently started my new role as Active Ageing Lead, where I support healthy ageing by helping people stay active, independent, and connected to their communities. Alongside this, I lead work around menopause awareness and support, promoting understanding and helping to ensure people have access to the information, resources, and support they need. I'm passionate about improving wellbeing at every stage of life and enjoy working with colleagues, partners, and communities to create positive, lasting change and help people feel supported and empowered.

How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council?
I have worked for North Northamptonshire Council since I was 16 years old. I started off as a Casual leisure assistant. I then progressed to a level 4 gym instructor and group fitness instructor at Lodge Park Sports Centre and the Corby swimming pool. I worked closely with the clients in the gym as an activity referral instructor and later specialised in exercise for cancer rehabilitation. I've enjoyed getting to know colleagues across different teams and contributing to work that makes a positive difference to our communities.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Alongside my role as Active Ageing Lead I also run a cancer rehabilitation group exercise class every week at Lodge Park Sports Centre. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the positive impact our work has on people's lives. Whether it's helping someone become more active, build confidence, or feel more connected to their community, it's incredibly rewarding to know we're making a real difference.
How do you unwind after work?
I like to unwind by spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors when I can, and enjoying a good book. I also love watching a variety of sports, but Ice hockey, Formula 1 and Boxing are my favourite. I also try to stay active myself, which really helps me switch off after a busy day.
Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?
Vanilla! I know its basic, but it's been my favourite since I was a child, and no matter how many new flavours appear, I always go back to it!
Isaura Collyer - NXT Level Active Training Lead
Hi i'm Isaura, but everyone calls me Izzy. I am really looking forward to this next chapter as NXT Level Active Training Lead. The role will be supporting 14 to 25 year olds gain training
and support pathways into volunteering and employment.

How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council?
I have recently started my journey with NNC, I have worked in the leisure industry for the past 14 years and have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles, including personal training, group exercise, exercise referral, and delivering vocational qualifications, to name a few!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of working in leisure for me is seeing the positive impact you can have on people's lives. There is nothing better than watching someone achieve something they never thought was possible and seeing their confidence grow along the way.
How do you unwind after work?
Outside of work, it's all about spending time with my daughter and enjoying our time together.
Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?
My favourite ice cream flavour has to be strawberry!
