🌞 Summer Success for Active Families: Over 14,000 Participants Engaged!

July and August were buzzing with energy for the Active Families team, who delivered an incredible range of activities across North Northamptonshire. With a throughput of 14,511 and engagement with approximately 4,061 families, it’s safe to say this summer was a huge success!

🎉 Active Families Fundays: A Community Celebration

A massive thank you goes out to the NNLeisure team for their support in delivering the Active Families Fundays. These vibrant events saw a combined attendance of around 13,950 people across Corby, Wellingborough, Rushden, and Kettering.

Despite a rainy afternoon dampening turnout in Kettering, the spirit of the events remained strong. With support from 50 different provider organisations, including sports clubs and VCSE groups, the fundays offered something for everyone.

Early evaluation results are glowing:

  • 💯 100% of survey respondents said they would recommend the events.

  • 💯 100% want them to return next year!

One heartwarming quote from the Wellingborough event sums it up beautifully:

"I saw you post about the funday earlier so I told my partner’s mum who took my daughter down and she loved it. She's only 14 months but had the best time on soft play and seeing all the stalls. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who organised it because they said how lovely it was and I know people behind the scenes don't often get a thanks."

🗺️ Family Xplorers: Navigating Fun in Local Parks

In collaboration with Freedom Leisure, the Family Xplorers events brought families together for free navigational challenges in local parks. Despite one cancellation in Thrapston due to weather, 181 participants attended the other five events. These activities continue to attract local families and will return in October with a Halloween theme!
