Supporting Drowning Prevention Week in Corby

We are proud to be taking part in #DrowningPreventionWeek with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) 💙

From 13 to 20 June 2026, this national campaign focuses on helping children and young people learn how to stay safe in and around water. As we head into the summer months, this message is more important than ever.

Why water safety matters

Spending time near water is a big part of summer, whether that is at pools, lakes or the coast. While it is fun, it also comes with risks. Simple knowledge and skills can make a real difference and help prevent accidents.

Drowning Prevention Week aims to:

  • Teach children how to stay safe near water

  • Build confidence in the water

  • Help people know what to do in an emergency

You can find out more about the campaign here:👉 www.rlss.org.uk/drowning-prevention-week.

Supporting our community in Corby

At Corby East Midlands International Pool we are proud to support this message through our Swimming Lessons programme.

We offer swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, from babies and young children through to adults. This means everyone has the chance to learn key skills that could save a life.

Our lessons focus on:

  • Water confidence from an early age

  • Core swimming skills

  • Personal survival techniques

  • Safe behaviour in and around water

We believe that learning to swim is not just about sport. It is a life skill.

Join us this summer

We invite families to get involved, whether that is learning more about water safety, joining a class, or sharing the message with others, every step helps.

Together, we can build confidence in the water and help keep our community safe.

💙 Let’s support Drowning Prevention Week and make water safety a priority for all.
