Corby East Midlands International Pool are proud to achieve Water Wellbeing Accreditation through National Governing Body, Swim England.
The ‘Water Wellbeing’ model includes all the essential components, to be able to offer the best possible experience for people who are inactive and/or have long term health conditions, to become physically active in water.
To become accredited the facility had to provide evidence of being Accessible and Inclusive, this is not just about the physical environment but also about staff awareness and attitudes. It is also important to promote these aspects well to help break down barriers for those who otherwise might not consider what our facility has to offer.
Andrew Power, Water Wellbeing Specialist at Swim England;
“Achieving this accreditation is a testament to the enthusiasm and efforts of the leisure team, to find new ways to support local people to improve their health and wellbeing. It was clear from the start that the team were committed to this agenda, and it is exciting to see new offers being created, that take full advantage of the unique benefits that being active in water has to offer “
